Reports from the New York Times are that Norman Abramson, a member of the pioneers behind wireless networks, has passed away at the age of 88. Abramson, a team of graduate students and faculty he led created an early wireless network known as ALOHAnet. The network's innovative techniques are still being used in more recent satellite, phone, and computer networks. Abramson's death was as a result of skin cancer which had a bad effect on his lungs. This morning, we learnt that the main regulator of the telecommunication sector in Nigeria (NCC) has issued directives to network service providers to suspend SIM registration. According to an image shared by a social media user, MTN Nigeria, a leading service provider will be taking their SIM registration portal down.
